Numerical simulation of aerospace propulsion systems: research and teaching
This presentation will outline the research and instructional endeavors undertaken by the Aerospace Propulsion group at Politecnico di Torino. The research activities concentrate on the advancement of models and simulation tools aimed at the design of aerospace propulsion systems. Beginning with high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, data-driven methodologies are implemented to develop reduced-order models utilizing nDAI, which facilitate the efficient optimization of components within the modeFRONTIER workflow. This expertise is subsequently imparted to students through interactive laboratory sessions, wherein they cultivate both numerical and critical thinking skills.
