Simone Bartesaghi

Graduating in 2006 from the Politecnico di Milano with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Simone went on to earn a Master’s in Yacht Design and later a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). He is an expert in CFD, data analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and Star-CCM+.
The 2027 campaign with Luna Rossa will be his third America’s Cup, having previously taken part in the 35th edition with Artemis Racing and the 37th with Luna Rossa. Bartesaghi also worked in the 2011–2012 Volvo Ocean Race with the Camper/ETNZ team as a CFD engineer and has been a professional CFD consultant for sailing yachts, megayachts, and Olympic Kite Foil projects. In his free time, he enjoys photography and, whenever possible, long walks surrounded by nature.
